Introduction

We understand Rubric generation may not be the simplest or easiest thing, and so we have taken some time to create a Generative AI prompt, that will help you get started. There are some key inputs to change, and it will generate a first draft Rubric for you. 

 

We strongly recommend you review, edit and test it before using the rubric with Learners. Copy and paste the below into your favorite GenerativeAI tool and update everything within the square brackets ([ ]). See the bottom of this page for guidance on each bit of information.

Prompt inputs

These inputs make sure the output and the Rubric are moving you in the right direction.  

  1. Sector e.g. Healthcare, Software Engineering, Hospitality.
  2. Programme Name - e.g. Nursing Fundamentals Certificate, Hospitality Supervisor apprenticeship, or Machine Learning Engineer
  3. Programme Level - e.g. Level 2, or Level 7.  
  4. Activity Instructions - A clear description of what learners must do. Could be a copy and paste of the activity instructions you give to your learners.   
  5. Criteria Items - List up to *10* distinct assessment criteria. These could be formed from the programmes assessment criteria, or could be specific things you want to assess that Learner in.
  6. Performance Levels - e.g. Pass, Merit or Distinction.
